The Saskatchewan Agriculture Talent Pathway provides a provincial immigration route for eligible agricultural and food-processing workers who have a permanent, full-time job offer in Saskatchewan.
The pathway operates under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program and can lead to Canadian permanent residence after Saskatchewan approves a provincial nomination and the applicant completes federal processing.

How to Live Permanently in Saskatchewan: Step-By-Step Complete Guide
What Is the Saskatchewan Agriculture Talent Pathway?
The Agriculture Talent Pathway helps Saskatchewan employers recruit and retain workers for occupations connected with farming, livestock, greenhouses, food processing and related agricultural industries.
Applicants can qualify while living outside Canada or while legally residing in Canada. Refugee claimants cannot apply through this pathway. Applicants must also intend to live and work permanently in Saskatchewan.
Unlike Saskatchewan’s Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand streams, the Agriculture Talent Pathway requires an SINP-approved Saskatchewan job offer.
Important Updates!
Saskatchewan identifies agriculture as a priority sector, together with health care, skilled trades, mining, manufacturing, energy and technology. At least 50% of Saskatchewan’s nomination allocation is reserved across these priority sectors.
Agriculture does not fall under Saskatchewan’s capped-sector rules that currently apply to retail, trucking, and accommodation and food services.
Another important change involves employer approval. Saskatchewan now refers to the supporting employer authorization as an Employer Position Assessment (EPA). The employer obtains conditional approval, and the candidate must confirm the employer-submitted information through their OASIS account.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants may qualify for the Agriculture Talent Pathway if they:
- Live outside Canada or hold legal status in Canada.
- Are not refugee claimants.
- Score at least CLB 4 in English or French.
- Complete at least secondary school or a higher level of education.
- Have qualifying agricultural or related work experience.
- Receive an eligible permanent, full-time Saskatchewan job offer.
- Have a valid Employer Position Assessment connected with the job.
- Intend to live and work permanently in Saskatchewan.
- Pay the $500 non-refundable SINP application fee.
Employers or occupational regulators may require language scores higher than CLB 4 for certain jobs.
Work Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of two work-experience options:
- At least one year of full-time work experience during the previous three years in the intended occupation; or
- At least six months or 780 hours of full-time work with the Saskatchewan employer supporting the application.
Full-time work means at least 30 hours per week. Saskatchewan does not require the qualifying experience to be consecutive.
Eligible Agriculture Talent Pathway Occupations
As of Today, Saskatchewan lists 11 eligible occupations:
- NOC 14401: Storekeepers and partspersons
- NOC 75101: Material handlers
- NOC 84120: Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators
- NOC 85100: Livestock labourers
- NOC 85101: Harvesting labourers

- NOC 94143: Testers and graders, food and beverage processing
- NOC 94204: Mechanical assemblers and inspectors
- NOC 95106: Labourers in food and beverage processing
Certain occupations on this list only qualify when the sponsoring employer operates under an eligible industry classification, including agriculture, food manufacturing, agricultural equipment manufacturing, farm-product wholesaling or farm-product warehousing.
Saskatchewan Job Offer Requirements
Applicants need an eligible permanent, full-time agricultural-sector job offer in Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan employer must register with the SINP and obtain an Employer Position Assessment. Once Saskatchewan conditionally approves the EPA, the applicant receives a notification and must log in to OASIS within 10 days, or before the EPA expires if that date comes sooner, to confirm the job information.
Applicants do not need to rely on an employer-provided EPA approval letter because Saskatchewan handles the confirmation electronically through the OASIS system.
Language Requirements
The minimum requirement is Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4.
Applicants need an approved language assessment showing their ability to:
- Speak
- Listen
- Read
- Write
Saskatchewan requires an official language assessment for Agriculture Talent Pathway applications. Employers may set a higher standard when the actual job requires stronger English or French skills.
Education Requirements
Applicants must complete at least secondary school education or a higher level.
Candidates should prepare educational records showing that they meet this requirement. Applicants who completed their education outside Canada may need supporting educational documentation requested through the SINP application process.
Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Check Your Occupation
Confirm that your job falls under one of the 11 occupations currently accepted by the Agriculture Talent Pathway. Also check whether your employer must operate under one of the specified industry classifications.
Step 2: Obtain a Saskatchewan Job Offer
Find an eligible Saskatchewan employer willing to offer you permanent, full-time employment in an approved agricultural or related occupation.
A job offer is mandatory for this pathway.
Step 3: Employer Applies for an EPA
Your employer registers with the SINP and submits an Employer Position Assessment for the job.
Saskatchewan reviews the position to determine whether it meets SINP requirements. In the second quarter of 2026, Employer Position Assessments took about three weeks for 80% of finalized cases, although past processing times do not guarantee future processing.
Step 4: Confirm the Employer Position
After Saskatchewan conditionally approves the EPA, you receive a notification.
Log in to your OASIS account within 10 days, or before the EPA expires, and confirm that the employer and job information are accurate.
Step 5: Prepare Your Documents
Prepare documents such as:
- Passport
- Language test results
- Education records
- Employment reference letters
- Saskatchewan job-offer information
- Work-experience evidence
- Canadian immigration-status documents, if applicable
- Family and civil-status documents
All information must remain accurate and consistent.
Step 6: Apply Through OASIS
Use Saskatchewan’s OASIS online application system to complete the Agriculture Talent Pathway application and upload the required documents.
The Agriculture Talent Pathway does not use the regular International Skilled Worker EOI process that Saskatchewan uses for Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand applications.
Step 7: Pay the Application Fee
Pay the $500 non-refundable application fee by Visa or Mastercard as the final step before submitting the application.
Step 8: Saskatchewan Reviews Your Application
The SINP reviews your job offer, experience, education, language results, documents and intention to settle in Saskatchewan.
For applications finalized during April through June 2026, the Agriculture Talent Pathway showed an average processing time of approximately two weeks for 80% of cases. Saskatchewan warns that these historical processing times should not be used as a guarantee for future applications.
Step 9: Receive a Provincial Nomination
If Saskatchewan approves your application, the province may issue an SINP nomination.
Meeting all minimum requirements does not guarantee nomination because the federal government limits the number of nominations Saskatchewan can issue each year.
Step 10: Apply for Permanent Residence
After receiving the provincial nomination, complete the appropriate federal permanent residence process with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Federal authorities make the final decision on permanent residence and assess medical, criminal, security and admissibility requirements.
